Inverted Audio Premiere: "A Land To Mend" by Arad
As Arad, Dara Smith first landed on Voitax mid-2021 with a release that ranged from shimmering ambient to carefully processed breakbeats. Now the Irish producer returns to the label with 5-track EP that demonstrates a similar atmospheric and detail orientated approach.
Some listeners may be familiar with Smith’s work as one half of the celebrated duo Lakker alongside Eomac. As a solo producer, he’s also appeared on Electric Deluxe and Bedouin Records, frequently incorporating his own vocals in his tracks...

Inverted Audio Premiere: "Can You Sleep Like This" by Cressida
Carving out his own niche in the space between UK bass and techno, DJ and producer Cressida has been honing his own sound over the past few years. The Berlin-based Brit has released on labels including OSF, Syncretism and Nurse. However, it’s Voitax where he’s become a regular fixture.
‘Can You Sleep Like This’, came about at a time when Cressida had been going through a bit of a creative lull. Despite this, it came together quite quickly, a synthesis of different kinds of music he’d been listening to at the time. “I’m glad that they can all sit next to each other harmoniously in one EP”, he explains...

With the VOI 026 Bailey demonstrates once again that he has proven himself to be a serious representative that yet doesn’t seem to bind himself to any particular genre...

The Electro Review: "Venice Pavilion" by Farron
This latest offering from Berlin's Voitax Records is the 25th record to be released on this imprint. What better way to mark the occasion by giving the position to Farron. The artist's casual merging of styles brings home the sweet bits of electro, IDM, jungle, bass, and techno. Five tracks tumble through the ethic of upbeat and evocative electronica as each number is designed to focus on one particular direction...

6AM Premiere: "Rise and Kill" by Makaton
Following his last EP for the label, Immaculata, VOITAX mainstay Makaton returns to form with his second solo EP – Crime Wave. His meticulously crafted brand of techno spans over four dance-floor cuts, covering all the bases for the mind, body and soul. “Bruise Violet” opens up shop in true Makaton fashion. A venturesome stomper buffed out with an unrelenting, neurotic bass line which is sure to turn heads. “Rise and Kill” features the Birmingham producer’s inimitable swing that is dominated by another incisive bass line and served with a big side of hypnosis...

With a mission to reinvent rave culture for the twenty-first century music fan, Swarm Intelligence brings us an astounding EP. Born in Dublin and now working from Berlin, this artist is perfectly placed to make the most impact with his sounds. With recent headway made after the acclaimed Against The Dying Light which saw him played on more dance-floors than they could count, this next epoch unravels four brand new and futuristic sounding works of dance...

T.O.P Track Premiere: "Commune" by Rory St John
Rory St John returns to Voitax with his »Excommunication« EP, a hyper-deep, futurist take on classic dub techno. Skillfully assembled, each of the four tracks hypnotically morph and evolve, forgoing the cheap tropes of today’s ‘rise and drop’ techno for a more immersive listen – one gets the feeling that each and every sound is wielded with precision, and exists exactly where and for as long as it should...

DJmag reviews "Bay Of Sampieri"
Purist thrills here from Berlin’s Cyan85. ‘Chase Your Mind’ is a rapid sidewinding sequence snapped to thumpy kicks and hats, ‘Computor Punk’ has beats like Kraftwerk’s ‘Numbers’, and the lush title track is reminiscent of DMX Krew’s disco stuff — very good, then.

Tales of Psychofonia reviews "Bay Of Sampieri"
Bay of Sampieri is a body warmer, filled of dirty breaks and groove. A freshly released EP, fruit of the magic hands of Cyan85, on the Berlin’s outstanding VOITAX.
“Chase your mind” is a harmonised chaos of elegantly twisted filters, arpegiators and 808 beats, leading us to an Acid Wonderland. Twirling synths teasing your mind empowered by the repetitive male vocals, dragging you into the basement of unexplored mental territories...

Bleep reviews "Borneo Function"
First, we’ll let you down gently - Cressida’s Borneo Function EP contains nothing that sounds remotely like the tune of the same name that Jez beatboxes in season four of Peep Show. Sorry about that. However, the producer more than makes up for the initial disappointment with what he brings to the table here. These are heavy techno malfunctions that incorporate elements of grime, breakbeat, trip-hop and dancehall...

Groove reviews "Immaculata"

The Wire Magazine reviews "Against The Dying Light"
If industrial techno is a sewer - flowing under the infrastructure of club culture, always there, hardly changing - then this is a horrific eruption from those subterranean depths, impossible to ignore or forget once exposed to it. The Irish producer has made some nicely aggro four-to-the-floor tracks for labels like Earwiggle in the past...
